With Kay finding and recruiting Hoss in The Heavy, it's time to regroup with him in Mos Eisley and deal with a situation that very quickly gets out of hand, leading you to break into the home of one of Star Wars' most iconic threats. Our walkthrough will guide you through your quest to infiltrate Jabba's Place, with tips for sneaking through every enemy encounter, finding useful resources for upgrades and tracking down key points of interest.

Partners Walkthrough

Now that Hoss is on the team, we're ready to leave Tatooine. When you're ready mark Partners as your active quest and then make the trek over to Mos Eisley.

Once you're in the city, we'll want to meet Hoss at Docking Bay 94. Follow the quest marker to find it. As you enter, Kay will call ND and tell him we're picking up Hoss. When the call's done, proceed through to the elevator that takes you down to the landing pad. Once it's stopped, head into the centre of the landing pad.

Hoss is nowhere to be found, so let's call the Trailblazer while we kill some time. Press the on-screen prompt and the ship will land. Once it's down, follow the quest marker to a nearby box and sit on it to wait for Hoss.

Reached Docking Bay 94 (Partners)

Infiltrating Jabba's Palace

When it's clear he isn't showing up, Kay will get a call from Hoss. He tells her that he's currently in the cantina and he'll be there later. However, Kay decides she's going to go check on him. When you regain control, follow the quest marker up and out of Docking Bay 94, and then over to Mos Eisley Cantina.

As you arrive, you'll cue a cutscene, with Kay interrupting Hoss during a heated game of Sabacc. Be prepared to absolutely detest Hoss going forward, because this cutscene will see him trade Nix to his opponent to settle his debt. Moments after, things go sideways and Kay is knocked out.

After a short flashback, she'll regain consciousness. Turns out Nix has been sold to Jabba the Hutt, and we ain't leaving our boy out there, so it's time to go bring him back. You'll regain control outside the cantina, as Kay calls ND and tells him about the situation.

ND will reveal to Kay that there's a secret back entrance to Jabba's palace, so we'll need to find it, sneak in and take Nix back. Follow the quest marker out of Mos Eisley, then hop on your speeder and jet towards the quest marker. It'll take you to a tunnel that leads out to a path around the outskirts of Jabba's Palace.

Eventually, you'll be forced to dismount your speeder. Climb off and then pass through the crack in the wall ahead to continue following the path around the outskirts. You'll eventually reach a cliff wall you can climb that leads to a jump over a chasm to a second cliff wall ahead. Leap across to the wall, climb up and then follow the route around until you find a grapple point you can swing across.

When you land on the path opposite you, follow it around until you reach a broken stone turret. Climb onto the side of it, and you'll see a guard watching the valley below. Hoist yourself up and silently take them down, then continue following the route.

Up ahead, you'll see a patrolling guard walking up and down a bridge that leads through a cavern. Further down the bridge, you'll see a guard and a droid facing each other. Hide behind the metal turbines next to the path and whistle to lure the patrolling guard to you. Take them out silently, then look for the hole in the stone wall behind you. The arrow in the image above points out its location.

Drop through it and you'll see there are ledges lining the lower portion of the bridge, allowing us to move past the two guards undetected. Hop onto the ledges and cross them until you reach the rocks on the other side, then follow the path of rocks around and you'll loop back to the paved walkway. Hop up to it and then take a right.

At the end of the path ahead, you'll see a guard standing with their back to you. Approach them and knock them out quietly, then proceed forward. Down the path ahead, you'll see a guard watching a camp fire, a guard patrolling the bridge ahead and then a third guard watching the path up the stairs at the end of the bridge. Let's try and avoid all three guards.

Push forward and, to your right, you'll see another hole in the wall. As with before, its indicated by the arrow in the picture above.

Drop through it and, once again, use the ledges on the side of the bridge to cross below it undetected. When you reach the final ledge, drop down to the rocks below and pass below the bridge, then proceed to the climbable cliff wall behind the bridge.

Scale it and, at the top, you'll find a trail across a series of rocks in front of you that runs adjacent to the path beyond the bridge.

It'll eventually drop you at a small turret with a guard watching the valley below and a patrolling guard. Duck behind the boulder ahead of you and wait for the patrolling guard to face away, then push ahead and drop down to the rocky path in front of you.

Follow it around until you reach a gap between the stone path and a climbable cliff face. Use the grapple point above you to swing across to the cliff face, then ascend it. Follow the route around and, if you look up, you'll see a grapple point below a window above you. Latch onto it and pull yourself through the window.

Finding Nix

Now we're inside, it's time to go rescue our trusty little sidekick. Follow the corridor ahead until you reach a door leading to a staircase.

Quickly go left, ascending the stairs and looting the resources at the top, then double back and head down the stairs. Be really careful here. Ahead, there's a Gamorrean guard standing watching in a doorway, and he's easy to stumble into if you aren't careful. Gamorreans are tough opponents; like droids, they can't be taken down with the stun shot or stealth killed, so we'll have to bypass them entirely.

To get passed him, stick to the right-hand side of the corridor and push down to the boxes ahead. Wait here until he's turned and walked into the room behind him, then continue onward, descending the stairs.

At the bottom, you'll find a room filled with resources to loot and a data pad from Bib Fortuna. Grab all of it, then head through the vent on your left. Follow the route through the ventilation shaft, and you'll emerge in a maintenance room.

Duck behind the box ahead. In front of you is a stationary guard, while a Gamorrean guard patrols the hallway through the arch in front of you. Take down the guard ahead, then crouch next to the doorway. Wait for the Gamorrean guard to take a right and continue following the corridor ahead, then sneak out the door and follow behind him.

Stay on his tail as he descends the stairs, stops at the bottom and looks to his left. When he does, sneak around him and to the right. Ahead, you'll see another Gamorrean guard. Wait for this guard to turn and head up the staircase in front of you, then sneak forward to where he was standing.

There's a normal Hutt guard on your left, so take them out, then look to your right. You'll see an archway leading to a giant generator room with a grapple point on the ledge just beyond it. Head through the arch, latch to the grapple point and descend.

As you lower yourself down, the camera will show a Gamorrean guard leaving the generator room. Don't worry about him. He won't come back, so let's score some loot while we're here. As you land, flip around and you'll see a terminal in front of the generator. Slice it and you'll get the option to disable the Security Door. Disable it, and the camera will show the door on the bottom floor of the generator room is now open.

Drop down to the ledge to the right of the terminal and cross to a second ledge next to you to reach the platform on the opposite side of the generator. Pull yourself up, then descend the ladder opposite you and head through the now-open security door.

You'll find two chests and some loose resources in the room behind the security door, so grab them all then return to the terminal and head through the red door down the corridor opposite it. Before you open it, make sure you're positioned to the right of the door, as one of the guards' patrol routes in the room ahead has him staring directly at this door. When you're in position, open it.

Ahead, you'll see two Gamorrean guards. The aforementioned patrolling guard will move between staring at the door we're entering through and staring at the corridor opposite him. Meanwhile, there's also a guard on the right-hand side of the room who will stand stationary.

Wait for the patrolling guard to turn his back on you, then quietly move into the room ahead and look for a vent on your right. Crack it open, sneak inside and follow the route. It will take you around to the opposite side of the room, directly next to the other position where the patrolling Gamorrean stops.

Wait for him to move back to watching the door we entered from, then slip out and head through the corridor to your right. This is where things get a little hectic. We need to pick the lock for the door in front of us, but the Gamorrean guard will eventually return and spot us if we're too slow. So, make your way over to the door and begin lockpicking it. If you feel you're not going to have enough time, bail out, return to the vent, wait for the guard's patrol route to loop and then try again.

Reached The Storage Room (Partners)

Getting the Keycard to The Storage Room

When you're eventually through, Kay will instantly push through the door, triggering a scene where we see two guards talking about Nix.

One of the guards will say she's going to go "break him", locking herself in the Storage Room to the left and heading to find Nix. The guard she was chatting to will take the key to the Storage Room, meaning we have to grab it from him to free Nix. The guard with the key (who we'll refer to as the key holder going forward) is circled in the image above. When you regain control, wait for the key holder to move. He'll begin walking down the corridor, flanked by two Gamorreans.

Follow behind them, taking out the guard on the right examining the alarm when the trio are out of earshot, then following them into a room at the end of the corridor.

When you're inside the room, crouch behind the boxes near the entrance. You'll see the two Gamorreans stop and wait in this room as the key holder leaves through the door in the back left-hand corner. One of the Gamorreans will stand stationary on the right-hand side of the room while the other will patrol back and forth. Wait for the patrolling Gamorrean to turn away from you, then cross to the right-hand side of the section you're currently in and enter the vent you find here. It's circled in the image above.

Follow the vent through and check on the patrolling Gamorrean. When he turns his back on you, use the boxes to your left to carefully move around to the back left-hand doorway.

You'll pass through into another corridor. There's a guard working with their back turned to you, meanwhile, the key holder is standing facing the bars to your left. Take out the guard and then bring down the keyholder. When he's out cold, you'll be able to grab the Storage Room keycard off his body.

Now, carefully retrace your steps back to the Storage Room, sneaking around the Gamorrean guards in the previous room and returning to the door we saw the torturer enter.

Exploring the Menagerie

Insert the keycard into the door and make your way inside the storage room corridor. As you reach the end of the corridor, you'll see the door to the Storage Room is locked. However, there's a vent to your left. Head inside and follow the ventilation shaft, taking a look through the bars to your left as you go for a nice lil' easter egg. Good to see a familiar face, eh?

At the end of the ventilation shaft, drop out and you'll land in a freezer room. Push forward to the door ahead and open it, then take a right and make your way through a tunnel full of cages. At the end, on your left, you'll see a junction box with a switch you can throw to open the door behind you.

Once it's open, proceed through the door, following the tunnel on the other side until you reach a room with several boxes dotted around its centre. Take cover behind one of the boxes and you'll see two Gamorrean guards enter the room. Wait for a few seconds as they proceed down the tunnel ahead.

This section is tricky. There are three Gamorrean guards stationed down this tunnel. The first Gamorrean guard is directly ahead of where we're crouching right now. He'll move toward us, stop, and then move back towards a cell on the left-hand side of the entrance to the tunnel. The second Gamorrean Guard will stand stationary by a door at the end of the tunnel. As for the third guard, he'll move between the very end of the tunnel and the midpoint of the tunnel.

To get past them, we need to throw a switch directly next to the cell the first Gamorrean guard patrols by. This will open a cell next to where the second Gamorrean guard is standing. When you're ready, wait for the first Gamorrean guard to face into the cell he's guarding, then sneak over to the crates to the right of him and wait. From here, you should be able to see the switch. It's circled in the image above.

Wait for the guard to move back to his other patrol position and for the third Gamorrean guard to move back to the end of the tunnel, then speed forward and turn it on before retreating to the boxes. When you're safe, continue forward, making sure to not fall into the line of sight of the other two Gamorrean guards. When you reach the open door (which is circled in the image above), dip inside.

The route will take you through a cave and conclude at the patrol point where the third Gamorrean guard stops. When you reach the end, wait for the Gamorrean guard to turn around, then sneak across to the other side of the tunnel and through the door ahead.

Once you're safely inside, proceed to the table in the room you're now in. You'll find the Menagerie keycard on the table. With it in your possession, our new goal is to get inside the Menagerie door. Turn back towards the door we used to get inside this room. Stand to one side of it, then open it.

The Menagerie door is just to our left, as shown in the picture above. To get to it, wait for the third Gamorrean guard to return to his position viewing the exit of the cave. As he turns around and begins his patrol route, dip out of this room, use the keycard to open the door, and proceed inside.

Take a quick look around to see some of the perculiar creatures contained in each cage, then proceed to the back left-hand corner to find Nix inside a cage. As you reach him, two Gamorrean guards will enter the room.

These guys are built like sandbags and can withstand crazy damage, however, they use axes, so they can only attack from close range. Let's use that to our advantage. Fight off the back foot, running backwards and hip firing at the pair. If you want some extra firepower, feel free to switch to your power module if you have it, hitting them with big shots.

Try not to get cornered and pack on the damage quickly, and eventually the pair will go down. As they do, a guard and two Masiffs will enter the fray. As soon as they enter, take the guard down quickly so you can focus on running backwards and attacking the Massifs from range. Much like the Gamorreans, these guys can only attack up close, so the more we strafe away, the less damage they can do.

When they're dead, we're clear to free Nix. Head back to his cage and unlock it. He'll rush out and join our side once again. Finally, the dynamic duo is reunited and Nix can get back to carrying the team.

Escaping Jabba's Palace

Leave through the door at the back of the Menagerie and take the stairs down. As you reach the bottom, Kay will realise she's been played. In a cutscene, we'll see her come face-to-face with everyone's favourite slug monster, and Jabba is not in a particularly forgiving mood.

During the sequence, Kay, Nix, Vail, and Hoss are all dropped into the iconic Rancor pit from Return of the Jedi. However, luckily, we aren't dealing with any rancors. Instead, we're facing a ton of very angry Massifs. When you regain control, Vail will tell you to run to the door at the back of the pit to escape.

It's worth noting that you'll get a scripted Hutt reputation decrease for this encounter. Now we're on Tatooine, it'll be easy to boost that rep back to a good standing, but if you're gunning to be best friends with them then you'll have to rebuild a bit of goodwill in the future.

Gun down the two Massifs that attack you, then turn and run to the door on the opposite side of the pit. You'll need to use your data spike to get through the door, so hack it and then proceed through. You'll enter a tunnel on the opposite side. Follow it and Vail will tell you that you need to reach her ship in the hangar to escape.

As you continue down the tunnel, three Hutt goons will run in and begin shooting. Order Nix to grab a blaster from the stand on your right, then pick it up and gun down all three in quick succession.

When they're dead, proceed through the arch ahead, keeping hold of the blaster rifle. As you continue through the tunnel, four more guards and a droid will enter the fray. Gun them all down quickly, eliminating the droid first so you can minimize incoming damage.

Push to the end of the tunnel, and you'll spot three more guards in the room to your left. Once again, tear through them with the rifle, then push through the door on the other side of the room.

Keep following the tunnel until you drop into a giant hangar. Make a left here, running towards Vail's ship just outside the hangar door. As you make your way toward the ship, you'll spot a suspicious amount of red barrels dangling from the ceiling. Surely, that couldn't mean anything ominous...

Reached The Hangar (Partners)

Rancor Boss Fight

Oh, there he is! Turns out the Rancor popped out of his pit to run some errands, but he's here now and he's definitely not happy. Following a short cutscene, we'll have to face this brute one-on-one.

Let's quickly break down how this fight works. In essence, the Rancor essentially has two attack modes. I'll call these modes standard and charge. In standard attack mode, he'll chase us around the arena while attacking. He'll use swipes, slams and various other melee attacks, and considering he's one big old unit, he'll cross the battlefield fast. His attacks do major damage; if you're still operating with the default health bar, they can even one-shot you. That means we'll want to make sure we're consistently staying out of his grasp. The best way to get past his melee attacks is to constantly sprint and hit the crouch button to slide as he launches an attack, effectively allowing us to dodge out of the way.

This will be our basic strategy for the fight, however, we can force the Rancor to switch to his alternate attack mode, charge, by blowing up one of the barrels suspended from the roof while he's in proximity. To get him under one, position yourself so the barrel is suspended between you and the Rancor.

Aim at the barrel, wait for the rancor to run under it and then fire. As it explodes, he'll fall down. When he gets back up, he'll rely exclusively on charge attacks.

You'll see a circular meter appear above his head with an angry face in the centre that gradually fills with red segments. When it's full, the Rancor will charge towards wherever you were standing when the bar reached its peak.

There are effectively four phases to the battle. For the first two, our objective is simple. Activate charge mode, wait by the hangar door for his charge meter to fill and then move out of the way so he'll collide with the hangar door, breaking it open. The door is huge and on the opposite side of the hangar from where the Rancor entered. You'll know when you're successful as you'll cue a quick cutscene showing the Rancor hitting the door and breaking it partially open. During the second phase, Hutt goons will enter, so take them out ASAP and then turn your attention back to the Rancor.

After the Rancor has hit the door twice, Vail will tell Kay that she needs to reroute the power to the terminal on the second floor of the hangar. At this point, your quest marker will point out a junction box on the opposite platform from Vail. It's circled in the image above.

This junction box is on the upper floor of the hangar, and thus inaccessible for us, but luckily we've got our trusty sidekick back. Look for the junction box, then command Nix to turn it on.

Keep away from the Rancor as Nix activates it, and then Vail will tell us that we need to get the Rancor to hit the door one last time. Look up and you'll see the suspended barrels are beginning to move around the room in a circle. Sprint after one and try to line it up so it's between you and the Rancor. This can take a few tries and evading the Rancor is more important than hitting him with the explosion, so be patient and prioritise your dodging above knocking him down. When he does jog under a barrel, detonate it. As usual, the Rancor will go back into charge mode.

From here, run back to the hangar door, get him to charge at you and then move out of the way to knock our big friend out for good. As you escape, Jabba's men will apprehend you once again, cueing a cutscene. When it's done, the mission will be complete. It's time to help out Jabba in exchange for our freedom, cueing the Jabba's Favor quest.
